Jump cutting

When you don't use angles when shooting from a wide shot to a medium it is a jump cut. Thee angle between shots of different size and difference has not been done sufficiently. The resulting effect is a jolt when shots are cut together. Jump cuts where often used in the films of the french new waves as directors tried to break with tradition.
